Owned and operated by Donna Weiss, AAS, FF/Paramedic, Respond Right EMS Academy exists to raise the bar in EMS education and exceed entry level standards. We strive to provide excellence in education and inspire our students through creative teaching methods and a realistic, professional learning environment.

Respond Right instructors are real-life firefighters and paramedics with years of experience in the field. Our instructors bring this experience into the classroom and create a dynamic learning experience for our students.

At Respond Right EMS Academy, we offer dedicated classroom and lab spaces for both the EMT program. We utilize the best equipment to simulate real-life practice. More importantly, we train with an actual ambulance. Using real-life scenarios, training in our ambulance allows students to practice life-saving skills while stationary, as well as, moving, stopping, and turning. This type of training helps to prepare the student for their new career in EMS.

A group of EMT students in St. Charles County are earning praise after taking action to help their instructor during a medical emergency.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an amazing experience with Respond Right. One of the biggest things for me was the way the course was structured. There is obviously a lot of information to learn as an EMT, and it can get overwhelming pretty quickly, but the way everything was broken down made it much easier to follow. I always felt like I knew what I needed to work on, what was coming next, and where I needed to put more effort. I also really liked that you’re given enough independence to learn and figure things out, but you’re not just left alone with the material either. There was always guidance when I needed it. Donna was a huge part of that experience for me. She is super attentive and actually pays attention to you as an individual student, not just whether you passed an assignment or a test. She is really good at lifting you up and helping you build confidence, but she also makes sure your feet still touch the ground. If you’re trying to run before you really learned how to walk, she’ll slow you down and make sure you actually understand what you’re doing first. Overall, I really liked the balance of the program. It gave me structure without feeling like I was being held by the hand through everything, and it gave me independence without making me feel like I was on my own. I was pointed in this direction of this place called "Respond Right EMS Academy" for an EMT Class! Wow, there was a reason why they sent me here! In 9 weeks, I never knew that I can take in that much information! Chief Weiss and Parks were both amazing people and instructors, who truly cared about each and everyone of us that were in the class! If you didn't understand something, well.. They fixed that right up! They totally were with you every step of they way from Day One! One thing is for sure, I would send everyone that needed a class their way! I randomly chose this EMT program after seeing it allowed a hybrid option. I decided to attend in person to hold myself accountable throughout the course. I am so glad I decided to do that, as Chief Donna is such a great mentor, teacher, and person. She will expose your weaknesses, not in a demeaning way, but to best prepare you for your future. Her passion, inventiveness, and good attitude is what every teacher/professor should strive for. Alongside with Chief Karl, they make such a strong team. Karl’s patience is unmatched. I’d recommend this program for those who want to take this career field seriously and want the best route for future success.

The addition of Katherine was a great choice, as well. Her humor kept me going.

I had heard so many great things about Donna and the Respond Right team. I recently completed my BLS instructor course with Donna and was blown away with the training and the company as a whole. The course was long but Donna found ways to ensure we were getting the content while also making things fun. It definitely made the time go by so quick and made this my preferred training center!
