AHA BLS Instructor Renewal
The BLS Instructor Renewal Course is designed to assist American Heart Association (AHA) BLS instructors maintain current instructor status. Instructors currently aligned with Respond Right Training Center are required to attend this renewal course before their instructor status expires.
All renewal classes times are from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Please plan on arriving 5-10 minutes early.  Class will start promptly at 9 a.m and the doors will be locked at 9:05 a.m.  Please refer to the Respond Right Training Center Cancellation Policy for policies on refunds and cancellations.

Steps to Enrolling in this AHA BLS Instructor Renewal Course:
Step 1 – Complete your Prerequisites for the BLS Instructor Renewal Course at least 5 business days before class
You will need to complete the items below, gather your completed documents, scan them and upload them to the Instructor Renewal portal here:Â BLS Instructor Renewal Portal
- Download this BLS Instructor Renewal Checklist_2021.
- Complete Section 1
- Complete Section 2
- Section 3 and Section 4 will be completed by the Respond Right Training Center
- After completing Section 1 and 2, upload the Renewal Checklist to the Renewal Portal.
- Upload a CURRENT AHA BLS Instructor Card
- Upload a CURRENT AHA BLS Provider Card
- Upload verification of attendance of updates as required within the previous 2 years.
- If there were no mandatory updates to attend, you will leave this area blank.
- Upload 4 class rosters (page 1 ONLY) to prove you have met the teaching requirement in the past two years.
- Instructors are required to teach 4 classes in the 2 year certification period to complete renewal.  Earn 4 credits by doing any combination of the following:
- Teach a minimum of 4 classroom provider courses in 2 years for the discipline the instructor is renewing
- Conduct skills practice and testing sessions for e-Learning courses.
- Each day of skills practice and testing sessions counts as 1 of the required 4 courses; all 4 credits can be earned this way.
- Instructors are required to teach 4 classes in the 2 year certification period to complete renewal.  Earn 4 credits by doing any combination of the following:
Step 2 – Register and pay for your classÂ
During Class Students must:
- Successfully demonstrate all provider skills
- Successfully complete the provider written examination
- Successfully complete the instructor written examination
- Successfully evaluate  other students during class
Cancellation/Transfer Policy
More than 3 business days before your course: If you cancel more than 3 business days before your course you will be refunded the amount you paid minus the 5% refund fee.
More than 3 business days before your course, if you need to reschedule: Students requesting transfer into another class will be charged a $25 fee.
0 – 3 business day of your course: If you cancel for any reason within 3 business days of your course you will forfeit the course cost and be required to re-register.
Within 3 business days of the class: No rescheduling
