Respond Right EMS Academy / St. Charles Community College Consortium Receives National Accreditation
St. Peters, MO – October 9, 2014 – Respond Right EMS Academy (RREMSA) is excited to announce that after several years of preparation, site visits and countless days of hard work, has received official notification of national accreditation.
The Respond Right EMS Academy / St. Charles Community College Consortium is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
What does this accreditation mean to Respond Right EMS Academy and their students?
The primary purpose of program accreditation is student and public protection. This is achieved by providing an independent, external, objective peer- review of institutional and/or programmatic quality as compared with accepted national standards. This protects the students’ investment in their education by ensuring they graduate from a quality program and that instructors possess adequate qualifications to teach and the necessary academic credentials. Accreditation protects the public by ensuring they receive a minimum standard of care by individuals who are properly trained.
“This was a very important accreditation for us to complete and we could not have done this without the incredible support of some crucial people on our team,” says Program Director Toni Milan.
The Advisory Committee was formed specifically to assist in improving our EMS program, and their participation does not go unnoticed. The time, dedication and thoughtful input they have put forth during the accreditation process is truly appreciated. We appreciate their dedication to higher education and helping us raise the bar in Paramedic education.
This national accreditation could not have been achieved without the dedication and support of our Medical Director and instructors of Respond Right. These highly qualified individuals have dedicated their lives to the field of EMS and have brought this experience into the classroom. This experience and dedication has helped to develop a superior EMS education program at Respond Right.
This accreditation requires attention to detail and organization of hundreds of documents. This huge task could not be accomplished without the front office staff of Respond Right. On a daily basis paperwork and record keeping is required to keep up with the ever changing accreditation standards. Without the dedication and support of the front office staff it would be nearly impossible to keep everything organized.
President, and CEO, Donna Weiss, said, “This national accreditation is a great milestone, not only for Respond Right EMS Academy, but for the St. Charles County area”. At this time there are only 14 accredited Paramedic programs in the state of Missouri. “We are proud to say that we have met these stringent standards”.
